September #TorChat lineup revealed!

Tor.com has declared the week of October 3-7 Steampunk Week, and our authors want in on the fun! To celebrate all things steampunk, authors Lev AC Rosen, Marie Brennan, and George Mann will discuss the popular subgenre and their own steampunk works on September 21st, from 4 – 5 PM EST!

Tor Books (@torbooks) is thrilled to announce the theme and participants for September’s #TorChat, part of a monthly series of genre-themed, hour-long chats created by Tor Books and hosted on Twitter.

Since 2009, Tor.com has taken time in October to celebrate the literature and aesthetic of the steampunk subgenre. This year, they’ll be celebrating Steampunk Week from October 3 – 7, with Ay-leen the Peacemaker (@writersyndrome) curating. Because we didn’t want to wait that long, Tor Books decided to jump the gun and have our celebratory steampunk #TorChat in September instead! Joining the chat are authors Lev AC Rosen (@LevACRosen), whose debut steampunk novel All Men of Genius is inspired by Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night and Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest; Marie Brennan (@swan_tower), the author of the Onyx Court series, of which the final novel, With Fate Conspire, is set in a steampunk London and the faerie courts beneath it; and George Mann (@George_Mann), the author of the Newbury & Hobbes Investigations series, a fun, fast-paced, steampunk Sherlock Holmes.

The chat will be loosely moderated by a well-known name in the steampunk world: Tor editor Liz Gorinsky, twice nominated for the Hugo Award for Best Editor, Long Form. She is well known in the twitter world as @2muchexposition, but will be moderating the chat from the @TorGuest account. We hope steampunk fans will follow or join in on the chat using the #TorChat hashtag!
