New Releases

Happy New Releases Day! Here’s what went on sale today.

Kill Zone by Kevin J. Anderson & Doug Beason

Placeholder of -98Deep within a mountain in Albuquerque, New Mexico, a Cold War-era nuclear weapons storage facility is being used to covertly receive more than 100,000 tons of nuclear waste stored across the US. Only Department of Energy employee, Adonia, and a few others including a war hero, a senator, and an environmental activist, are allowed access to perform a high-level security review of the facilities. But Hydra Mountain was never meant to securely hold this much hazardous waste, and it has the potential to explode, taking with it all of Albuquerque and spreading radioactivity across the nation.

This disaster situation proves all too possible when a small plane crashes at a nearby military base, setting off Hydra’s lockdown and trapping Adonia and her team in the heart of the hazardous, waste-filled mountain. Now, the only direction for them to go is deeper into the mountain, through the tear gas and into a secretive area no one was ever supposed to know about.

Rage by Cora Carmack

Place holder of - 70Princess or adventurer.

Duty or freedom.

Her Kingdom or the storm hunter she loves.

If Aurora knows anything, it’s that choices have consequences. To set things right, she joins a growing revolution on the streets of Pavan.

In disguise as the rebel Roar, she puts her knowledge of the palace to use to aid the rebellion. But the Rage season is at its peak and not a day passes without the skies raining down destruction. Yet these storms are different…they churn with darkness, and attack with a will that’s desperate and violent.

This feels like more than rage.

It feels like war.

NEW IN PAPERBACK

The Queen of Crows by Myke Cole

Image Placeholder of - 6In this epic fantasy sequel, Heloise stands tall against overwhelming odds—crippling injuries, religious tyrants—and continues her journey from obscurity to greatness with the help of alchemically-empowered armor and an unbreakable spirit.

No longer just a shell-shocked girl, she is now a figure of revolution whose cause grows ever stronger. But the time for hiding underground is over. Heloise must face the tyrannical Order and win freedom for her people.

Through Darkest Europe by Harry Turtledove

Image Place holder of - 16Senior investigator Khalid al-Zarzisi is a modern man, a product of the unsurpassed educational systems of North Africa and the Middle East. Liberal, tolerant, and above all rich, the countries and cultures of North Africa and the Middle East have dominated the globe for centuries, from the Far East to the young nations of the Sunset Lands.

But one region has festered for decades: Europe, whose despots and monarchs can barely contain the simmering anger of their people. From Ireland to Scandinavia, Italy to Spain, European fundamentalists have carried out assassinations, hijackings, and bombings on their own soil and elsewhere. Extremist fundamentalist leaders have begun calling for a “crusade”, an obscure term from the mists of European history.

Now Khalid has been sent to Rome, ground zero of backwater discontent. He and his partner Dawud have been tasked with figuring out how to protect the tinpot Grand Duke, the impoverished Pope, and the overall status quo, before European instability starts overflowing into the First World.

Then the bombs start to go off.

5 Thrillers by and for the Military for Memorial Day

There are many thrillers starring veterans and young warriors, but a select few are written by authors who served themselves! And no one writes a warrior like a warrior.

In the spirit of the holiday, we’ve picked 5 riveting thrillers written by and for members of the military.

Arctic Gambit by Larry Bond

Poster Placeholder of - 55 By navy veteran Larry Bond, Arctic Gambit tells the story of Jerry Mitchell, now the commodore of submarine Development Squadron Five. When a US vessel goes missing in arctic waters, Mitchell’s investigation will uncover a deadly plot involving nuclear blackmail and a shocking new Russian weapon that could alter the fate of the world. Commodore Mitchell must rely on his training, experience, and just a bit of luck on a mission to destroy the weapon before it starts World War III.

Assassin’s Code by Ward Larsen

Place holder of - 34 A former US Air Force fighter pilot, Larsen knows how to keep readers on the edge of their seats. Assassin’s Code follows former assassin David Slaton on an adrenaline-packed journey to thwart a terror attack on the French public. It all starts with a cryptic message: On a memory stick, a photograph of the man who will soon assume command of DGSI, France’s elite counterterrorism force.

Flash Points by David Hagberg

Image Placeholder of - 52 Former Air Force cryptographer David Hagberg writes the latest in a thrilling series following Kirk McGarvey, a retired CIA assassin who just can’t stay retired. In Flash Points, someone’s on a mission to kill the president, and McGarvey is looking like collateral damage. When the president’s enemies attempt to organize terror attacks around America and the globe to get the president impeached, McGarvey must leave retirement once more and hunt down the perpetrators.

Final Strike by William Cohen

Image Place holder of - 18 William Cohen served as the secretary of defense under Clinton and uses that experience to write tense political thrillers. In his latest terrifying adventure, the fate of the entire planet hangs in the balance as an asteroid hurtles toward earth. When Putin’s charismatic successor attempts to use the strike as a weapon against the United States, only an off the books operation by National Security Advisor Sean Falcone has the chance to rescue an American scientist, deflect the asteroid, and avoid a war between nuclear powers.

Rage by Ken Shufeldt

Placeholder of -14 Ken Shufeldt is a Naval veteran and author of explosive thrillers. In Rage, former Marine Victor Garcia is added to the GOP ticket as VP and token minority. But when his running mate wins the election and immediately disappears, Victor becomes acting president and a series of attacks and disasters throws the country into chaos. Not even his record as a war hero will protect him from dirty politicians and a violent push toward anarchy that only he can stop.
